Asphalt pavements are the most recycled material in the U.S., primarily because asphalt mixes that contain RAP have good performance histories. This part of the webinar will highlight studies on field performance conducted by numerous state DOTs, the Federal Highway Administration, and various pavement research organizations including the National Center for Asphalt Technology. The segment will also highlight the experiences of two pavement engineer veterans who will provide long-term perspectives of using RAP in asphalt mixtures from the Illinois DOT and the Florida DOT.
In this webinar, attendees will learn about:
1. Documented field performance of asphalt mixtures containing RAP
2. What applications are best suited for higher RAP content
3. The impact specification requirements have on usage and performance of RAP
4. Agency perspectives on the benefits and concerns with using RAP
