The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) $2 billion to be distributed to federal, state, and local agencies to incentivize or reimburse additional costs of procuring low carbon construction materials. Another $2.15 billion is available to the General Services Administration (GSA) for a similar program.

Attendees should expect to:

  1. Understand how policies developed under IRA to secure low-carbon construction materials will affect the asphalt paving industry.
  2. Learn how asphalt plants can shape the future definitions of 'low carbon' through participation in this benchmarking initiative.
  3. Learn how to use a free version of NAPA’s Emerald Eco-Label tool to participate in this nationwide initiative.
