Quantifying GHG Emissions for the Asphalt Paving Industry a Climate Stewardship Webinar
Increasingly, paving contractors are being asked by stakeholders to quantify the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with their operations. This may come in the form of demand from shareholders for corporate GHG emissions reporting, customer requirements for environmental product declarations, or internal initiatives for process improvement to achieve emission reduction goals. Various tools exist that allow organizations to quantify GHG emissions, each of which has its own methodology, scope, and system boundaries. This webinar will explore the various tools and approaches that organizations use quantify GHG emissions associated with asphalt pavements, ranging from direct emissions associated with operations to cradle-to-grave life cycle assessments (LCAs).
- Learn how to select the right GHG emission quantification approach to meet your needs.
- Understand how to quantify GHG emission reductions associated with common practices in the asphalt paving industry.
- Understand how the scope of the tool affects the outcomes of a study.
Professional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded up to 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). APA/NAPA’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together. To be eligible for the credits, individuals must remain signed in for the entire webinar, including for any question and answer session following the presentations.
APA/NAPA will report credits earned to the Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP). Complaints about registered providers may be sent to RCEP, 1015 15th Street, NW, 8th Floor, Washington, D.C., 20005.

Structural Design of Private Market Asphalt Pavements
This webinar is for civil and geotechnical engineers and architects who seek to learn more about designing asphalt pavements. This webinar will teach proper design methodology and will offer best practices to ensure thickness design of proper long-lasting asphalt pavement parking lots, warehouses, and distribution centers (DCs).
Attendees will be able to:
1. Understand the value and benefits of using asphalt pavement for parking lots and distribution centers.
2. Determine the key factors that must be evaluated for a proper thickness pavement design and review the PAVEXpress.com software package.
3. Learn ways to improve the end product through design considerations.
4. Select the appropriate asphalt mixture for the intended use as all asphalts are not the same and discuss dense graded, thin lifts, and stone matrix asphalt (SMA).
